Pediatric Development Behavior Physician

Career Overview

A pediatric development behavior physician works with children up to the age of twenty-one. They examine, evaluate, and treat children with problems such as ‘attention deficit hyperactivity disorder’ called ADHD.

Pediatric development behavior physicians evaluate a child’s behavior and development so they are able to diagnose and confirm their findings and probably cause, if possible. They train development behavior physicians to evaluate and deal with other problems such as pervasive development disorders, behavior problems, autism, development problems, problems involving attention, and learning problems.

A pediatric development behavior physician reviews the patients support needs with the patient’s family and primary care physician and councils the parents and children on the diagnosis and recommended treatments available. They also work with other specialists to give their patients the care they need. Pediatric development behavior physicians practice in hospitals and often in pediatric clinics with other specialists.



Career Requirements

To become a pediatric development behavior physician, or any other physician or surgeon requires dedication, hard work and years of extensive medical training.
